NEVADA – In apparent denial to a Las Vegas reporter concerning the illegal immigration workforce which dwells in Nevada, U.S. Senator Harry Reid said, “That may be some place, but it’s not here in Nevada.”

Facts are that Nevada has the highest percentage of illegal immigrants in its workforce compared to the rest of the country, according to the Pew Hispanic Center, a nonpartisan research organization. Clocking in at 12.2% percent, Nevada, a non border state, even surpassed all border states for illegal hiring, and the Nevada construction industry topped out at 17% of illegal hiring.

“Harry Reid is either being dishonest, or he is really so out of touch with his own state that he is totally blind to the fact that Nevada is currently overrun with undocumented workers who are taking away jobs from our citizens,” said Jerry Stacy, a spokesperson for U.S. Senatorial candidate Sharron Angle.

“It seems that Harry Reid just can’t figure out what’s happening with illegal immigration. He denies it’s a problem in his state, only to return to Washington to speak of ramming ‘comprehensive’ immigration reform through Congress, which is code word for ‘amnesty,’” Stacy stated.

“As Nevadans languish in 14% unemployment during the midst of the worst recession since the Great Depression, the inaction of Harry Reid’s leadership in Congress allows our struggling job market to be flooded with individuals here illegally. Nevada needs a Senator who will fight to secure the border and enforce that law currently on the books. That’s Sharron Angle,” Stacy ended.
